Five year fixed term apprenticeship.

Churchill College, University of Cambridge is seeking an Apprentice Building Surveyor to join the Estates Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is interested in starting a career in building surveying whilst working for a prestigious academic institution.


This is a five year training programme, which includes a fully funded part time undergraduate degree (BSc (Hons) Building Surveying Degree) and an RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) training programme leading to become an RICS Chartered Surveyor.

On the job training is provided to ensure all the required knowledge and experience is obtained throughout the apprenticeship to qualify successfully.


We ensure that your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is current and that all staff are fully up-to-date with changes to legislation and business needs including specialist training in project management, contract administration and building conservation.

The wider estates team includes chartered surveyors with extensive experience including as RICS APC Supervisors, Councillors and Assessors to support you with your development.

Previous experience is desirable but is not required.

To succeed, the applicant will have good communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment and a willingness to learn and follow instructions.

Hours of work are 37.5 per week.
