    Apprentice Mechanical Services Engineer

    Are you ready to start your engineering career? At Johnson Controls, we're on the hunt for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as an apprentice panel wirer.

    Our team focus on key projects for our Global Marine and Navy business unit. By joining the Johnson Controls be joining global leader in engineering and integrated solutions.

    You'll work with innovative technology and solutions and how to plan and effectively manage projects that protect individuals and businesses.

    Mentored by experienced engineers, you'll gain real-world experience, with access to top training facilities.

    As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to do meaningful work on a variety of exciting sites contributing to complex projects.

    An apprenticeship with us will see you building new skills, while applying your knowledge to real-world live projects. There will be plenty of opportunities to explore your potential and you'll enjoy full support from the marine team.

    In this role, you will receive comprehensive training in various areas, including how to perform mechanical service activities on our ships.

    You will learn about the processes and parts used in our equipment in the office, before going onsite.
    A key element of the role is servicing fire suppression systems for military and commercial ships.

    At our Manchester site, you will gain a solid understanding of our product information and learn key project management skills.

    The role offers the opportunity for significant travel. The majority of our work is throughout the UK, requiring overnight stays.
    You will be given a company van as part of this role to assist with travel.
    Generally, our ships are docked during work, but there may be opportunities for offshore work in the future.
    Throughout this role, you will receive extensive training and learn by doing, continuously mentored by our qualified engineers.

    On-the-Job Work Experience: You'll spend significant time putting into practice skills learned at college, giving you the opportunity to learn by doing as you progress through your apprenticeship.

    Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll work closely with qualified Johnson Controls Engineers and Technicians who will serve as mentors, guiding you in developing your skills.

    This collaborative environment ensures that you receive the support and guidance needed to succeed in your role.

    Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll have the opportunity to grow and apply the skills and knowledge gained in college in a real workplace setting.

    You will be enrolled on a level 3 Manufacturing and operations engineering technician qualification.

    Travel and Accommodation:

    If you're required to stay away from home for college or work-related purposes, the company will cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and meals.

    This ensures that you can focus on your education and training without financial burden.
    GCSE or equivalent in English (Grade 5)
    Competitive basic salary with excellent additional earnings potential
    ~25days holiday plus bank holidays
    ~ Uniform, all PPE and ongoing training provided.
    ~ Overtime pay.

    If successful, they can begin the apprenticeship on September 2, 2024.
