- Supporting the Head of Department, deputising for colleagues when required, and supporting junior team members assisting with their training and development.
- Overseeing and controlling supplier relationships. Negotiating prices, and terms and conditions of parts, tooling, and equipment.
- Managing purchasing elements and control costs/lead times.
- Ensuring business plan objectives are met.
- Maintaining databases with accurate records and documentation and compiling reports for management.
- Previous experience of purchasing in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Relevant qualification in a technical discipline or relevant professional qualification (CIPS).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience of MRP/ERP systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
