    BTP are supporting a global engineering consultancy, testing and certification business.

    We are seeking a German Speaking Engineer ideally with some experience of HV or the Transmission & Distribution field. You will work closely with the Sales Directors (UK&I and Europe) and help deliver tenders to a variety of large clients.

    The Tendering Engineer will be based from home with occasional travel to the Guildford office and client sites.

    Proficiency in German is essential for this role.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Lead new opportunities for the High Voltage Testing and Asset Management Consultancy, handling projects ranging from £15K to £2M.
    • Collaborate with our Global Services team to deliver optimum tenders on time and within the client's budget.
    • Evaluate value engineering or cost-saving opportunities.
    • Grasp the commercial fundamentals of a project.
    • Collaborate with the tendering, engineering, project, and commercial teams to prepare tender documents and appropriate value propositions for clients.
    • Coordinate with sub-contractors and sub-consultants on technical and commercial issues in the preparation of client offerings.
    • Actively engage with the supply chain to establish the most cost-effective and innovative solutions for the client, including reviewing offerings from suppliers for technical compliance.
    • Attend and lead tender handover meetings.
    • Review and understand project design specifications, identifying and quantifying associated project risks.
    • Manage the interface with the client during the tender and post-tender stages, including the clarification process.
    • Compile and assess technical submittals and the tender return.
    • Collaborate with the Estimator on the commercial proposal associated with the offering.
    • Ensure correct application and compliance with relevant business procedures, highlighting any observed non-compliance.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of work practices, identifying efficiencies, increasing productivity, and reducing risk accordingly.

    Role Requirements:

    • Engineering degree or suitable relevant experience in the industry.
    • German "business" language skills
    • "Roll up the sleeves" approach and ability to identify and implement practical solutions.
    • Strong IT skills – ability to deliver presentations, reports, etc.
    • Strong communicator with excellent verbal and writing proficiency.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Positive, solution-focused mindset.
