    Description

    The Buyer will be responsible for brands under the Twiflex Ltd product portfolio. The role includes the purchasing of materials, goods, and services. Working with departments on their purchasing requirements to ensure that the company's operational needs are met whilst considering cost, quality, and ensuring continuity of supply.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyse, review, and place POs based on MRP demand.
  • Receive acknowledgements for POs and update the system as necessary.
  • Ensure all POs are delivered on time.
  • Monitor purchasing data in SAP and keep up to date.
  • Provide timely information in relation to all purchase parts to other departments. Ensuring that Materials Planning and Production are informed of any changes in planned delivery dates.
  • Optimise inventory levels of all purchased items by determining inventory levels in order to support the business objectives.
  • Provide factual data to support all buying decisions.
  • Manage RFQs and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best agreement for goods and services.
  • Build relationships with suppliers.
  • Develop new supply sources where necessary.
  • Expand LCC efforts from a cost reduction and an order fulfilment perspective.
  • Be results driven and focus on the best outcome for the company.
  • Continuous improvement of processes.
  • Develop positive working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Support the Purchasing Manager in achieving the overall department's goals and objectives.
  • Take up additional duties as assigned to you.
  • Skills and Experience Requirements

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Manufacturing knowledge.
  • Process driven.
  • Competent in using SAP and MS Office packages.
  • A good understanding of MRP.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to work within a busy, fast paced environment.
  • Working toward CIPS qualification or relevant experience in manufacturing.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Understanding of Engineering drawings would be an advantage.
  • Import and customs knowledge would be an advantage.
