    An exciting and rare opportunity to work within the UK Music Industry, our client is looking for an experienced Corporate Secretary to join them to manage the ongoing administration and governance across the Group of Companies.

    Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Corporate Secretary plays an integral role in the day to day operation and governance of the group of Companies, including in the planning, scheduling and recording of all board meetings; overseeing board elections and ensuring governance procedures are maintained; and supporting the overall business in its Health & Safety and Risk Management measures.


    Some of the key responsibilities include:

    Manage and prepare the corporate calendars for the Group of Companies incorporating meeting and event schedules in liaison with the chairs of each Board/Committee and subsidiary and sister organisationsCollate agendas and meeting papers in conjunction with relevant Chair and Group team memberTake minutes for Board and Committee meetings, drafting them promptly and succinctly including clear action points and distributing appropriatelyAssisting the CEO and relevant team/Board member with completion of action points.

    Ensuring information flows effectively within the board (or governing body) and with and between board committees, and between non-executive directors and management.

    Assisting with the recruitment and induction of directors.
    Monitoring changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and acting accordinglyResponsible for Health and Safety for the organisation.
    Support the COO on all Risk matters.

    Whilst previous experience within the Music Industry would be valued, we are keen to attract applicants from any sector and background.

    We'd like you to be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualities:
    Has an interest in or knowledge of company law and/or governance.

    Efficient and very experienced in the role and responsibilities of multiple meeting coordination, minute taking, paper organisation and personnel support in relation to the afore mentioned.

    Highly organised, flexible and pro-active; able to multi-task and demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail.

    Articulate and able to liaise and influence at all levels – within the team, with Board Directors and external contacts ranging from service providers to politicians and heads of business.

    Can write clearly and concisely.

    Calm under pressure, approachable and pragmatic, able to motivate and be a central point of stability and support for the team.

    Is trustworthy, keeping confidential information confidential.

    A qualified Company Secretary or being studying for a qualification with The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland .Experience in the music industry, ideally music publishing and familiarities with inter-industry relations.(desirable)Computer proficient (MS Office suite particularly).
