    We are looking for highly motivated Radiographers to join our very busy Radiology team here at The Princess Royal Hospital (PRH), Telford site which includes a rotation to the state-of-the-art Community Diagnostic Centre in Telford.

    Main duties of the job

    These posts would be suitable for newly qualified or experienced Radiographers who would be provided with the opportunity to develop their skills.

    Main duties include:

  • Carry out quality x-ray imaging in line with departmental protocols
  • Undertake theatre and mobile x-ray procedures
  • Participate in the on call and out-of-hours x-ray service
  • Assist in training students and apprentices
  • To provide a high-quality service for patients across the department
  • Undertake CT brain and cervical spine scans to support the on-call service
  • To carry out clinical and administrative work as a member of the Radiology team
  • About us

    We have recently undergone a £7 million equipment upgrade within our Radiology departments with 2 new Philips Azurion, 2 replacement general fluoroscopy rooms, 8 general x-ray rooms and 4 mobiles. In addition, the RSH site boasts a brand-new imaging suite in the 'Evolution Scanning Suite' with Siemens CT and MRI scanners. PRH has had Canon Aquillion CT scanner installed in 2019 and 2021 and includes a rotation to the state of the art Community Diagnostic Centre based in Telford which provides DXR, CT , Ultrasound and MRI.

    All Radiographers with more than 1 year post graduate experience contribute to the training and mentorship of trainees and the department has an excellent on-site teaching environment. The department is fully committed to role extension and has practicing Radiographers undertaking Ultrasound, Barium Swallows, CT Colonoscopies and plain film reporting. The department is fully committed to Advanced Practice and the development of our teams supported by our Consultant Radiographer and working closely with our Consultant Radiologists.

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Experience working in general radiography during training or in previous position
  • Experience in out of hours working during training
  • Training in CT head scanning
  • Experience or training in an NHS Hospital
  • Desirable

  • Experience or training in an NHS Hospital
