The Organisation:

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017.

We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London.

These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James's Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.

We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens.

Our eight Royal Parks and other iconic green spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.

We are now looking for a Community Engagement Officer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role:


As a Community Engagement Officer, you will build relationships with local communities to help them access and enjoy the parks.


Helping to build a thorough understanding of the challenges local communities face, you will identify gaps in provision and trial solutions and initiatives to improve access and engagement with the central parks.

You will co-ordinate activities in the parks and help to recruit and co-ordinate new volunteers, helping to
roll out our new Access and Engagement plan with the team.

Additionally, you will:

  • Contribute to our visitor research programme
  • Assist in gathering relevant research and reports
  • Respond to community enquiries and signpost to relevant teams
  • Support the budget spend and other planning needs

About You:

To be considered as a Community Engagement Officer, you will need:

  • Experience engaging underserved communities
  • Experience delivering solutions and activities to improve access to, and participation with, the outdoors
  • Experience monitoring progress and evaluating impact of activities and solutions
  • Experience building relationships with local communities, organisations and services
  • An understanding of Health & Safety and safeguarding children, young people and adults
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
