is now recruiting for a School Sport Coach and Enrichment Officer

This role will have responsibility for improving participation and performance within a range of sports, alongside enhancing participation and provision across the academy within enrichment before, during and after school.


This is a great opportunity to develop a career in sports development, coaching or to progress into teaching (which the last post holder has done).

Be a part of DRET Sport

  • Help organise large scale sporting events, competitions, and initiatives
  • Track record of staff progressing within the Trust including teaching and sports enrichment roles

_ Who we are looking for_
Essential

  • A range of sports NGB qualification or significant experience within coaching or sports development
  • Passion for sport which could be drawn on to benefit King Edward VI Academy
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Keen to gain experience and develop your career
  • Ability to plan, organise and deliver successful programmes, events and initiatives

Personal Qualities:

  • Positive role model, demonstrating selfmotivation and mature interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a warm, respectful, and valued rapport with young people.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) including presentations.
  • Able to use your own initiative to drive participation and improve performance
  • High personal and professional standards, including recognition of the confidentiality issues impacting upon work in a school (e.g. access to sensitive pupil medical or family information).
  • Awareness of safeguarding legislation and issues and full commitment to safeguarding practice.
  • Willingness to travel for competitions, events and fixtures
  • Ability to communicate with pupils, parents, staff and other members of the Trust
  • Enthusiastic and energetic approach, with a cando attitude.
  • Flexible approach to duties undertaken and working hours
  • Ability to deliver and manage sessions with large numbers of students
