    Description

    We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our multidisciplinary Team within the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

    Why?

    We have recently completed a re-structure which has created new opportunities and roles.

    We have secured a new operational service based at Winwick, Warrington and satellite units in Netherton / Knowsley areas of Liverpool to support delivery of the service across the Trust footprint. We will also support opportunities for remote working in line with operational demands.

    Who do we want?

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Professional Lead for our MSK Physiotherapy team who has a special interest relating to the impact of work on health and vice versa.

    If you have proven leadership and management experience, are pro-active, dynamic, and motivated to support, lead and develop a robust preventative Occupational Health MSK Physiotherapy Team which supports the Trusts strategy and objectives, this job is for you

    Main duties of the job What does it involve?

    The role involves supporting and developing an MSK physiotherapy team, delivering high quality, evidenced based MSK physiotherapy, developing and delivering MSK health education, ensuring robust audits are in place, working in collaboration with the wider team and within organisational divisions, clinical assessment and treatment, sickness absence management and advice reports to managers/HR, functional capacity assessments in relation to fitness for role, new employee health assessments.     The service uses Civica Occupational Health (OPAS-G2) software which supports all clinical functions.

    • HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
    • Diploma/Degree or equivalent Physiotherapy qualification
    • Diploma/Degree or equivalent Physiotherapy qualification
    Desirable
    • Evidence of post-qualified study/short courses and Continuing Professional Development
    • Leadership/management qualifications
    • Membership of Professional Body (CSP)
    • Membership /Activity of special interest group/network
    • Membership of Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health & ergonomics (ACPOHE)
    Knowledge/ Experience Essential
    • Significant post registration experience as an MSK Physiotherapist
    • Supervision and line management experience
    • Service development and innovation in MSK Physiotherapy Services
    • Specialist knowledge and application of current best practice in Physiotherapy
    • Knowledge and specialist application of assessment and intervention with designated client group
    • Application of Models of Practice and standardised assessments & outcome measures
    • Implementation of polices/guidelines and ability to make recommendations Involvement in research and clinical audit
    • Understanding of team/group dynamics
    • Detailed knowledge of Health legislation/policy, including risk assessment and implications
    • Ability to critically analyse and deliver on the clinical governance agenda
    • Ability to resolve complex operational and strategic issues with relevant stakeholders
    • Teaching / training experience
    Desirable
    • Post registration experience in a range of clinical settings, ideally within Occupational Health & Wellbeing.
    • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Wellbeing and the impact of MSK issues on work and vice versa.
