The Buyer role is based within our Support business area.

The role
The difference our new Buyer will make
As a Buyer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.
The role will involve the end-to-end procurement cycle and you will be involved from initial customer demand to delivery to platform.
No two days are the same and working with different categories of suppliers means you will be integral in saving the company and the customer money in the current times of national cost challenges.
Day to day, you'll prepare, issue and review supplier request for quotes, recommending preferred options to the relevant stakeholders, convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders and issuing to suppliers, negotiating appropriate terms and conditions for the protection of the organisation as well as managing and developing supplier relationships.
You'll also be involved in pro-active supplier order book management activities, invoice dispute resolutions and processing nonconforming material, taking corrective action and driving improvement through the quality and supply chain.

- A recognised degree level qualification and/or relevant engineering/supply chain/lean culture experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. CIPS at level 4 or above
- Proven procurement experience, ideally in an operational procurement environment
- Experience in sourcing new materials and services
- Supplier Relationship Management experience
- Must have a flexible approach to workload, confident reading and understanding technical drawings and ability to communicate complex requirements to/from supply chain
- You must have the ability to gain SC clearance
