- The role of the Composite Manufacturing Engineer involves:
- Definition and cost estimation of manufacturing processes for new designs
- Definition of tooling requirements
- Production of job cards and work instructions
- Management of development test units to validate manufacturing concepts
- Creation of Process flow maps and PFMEA's to aid NPI stage reviews
- Supporting the NPI team in driving manufacturing activities and project plan reporting
- Management of production risks using tools like Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
- Requirements:
- Essential:
- Experience in composite manufacturing processes, particularly oven-cured pre-preg parts in a strictly regulated industry
- Leading process development for new parts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all business levels and customer interaction
- Desirable:
- Background in Manufacturing & assembly work
- Knowledge of Composite manufacturing processes
- Experience in Aerospace or similarly regulated manufacturing environments
