Overview of Role

As Transport Planner you will be a key member of the planning team and responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Transport Desk ensuring its efficient, safe, and legally compliant.
It is essential for this position you hold transport industry experience, have excellent communication skills with effective interpersonal skills as well as the capacity to operate independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the daily route planning process of Palletways deliveries and ensuring all are successfully completed
- Planning loads and routes that are commercially beneficial including protecting timed deliveries, ensuring all are commercially beneficial.
- First point of contact for drivers and ensuring drivers are dispatched to the hub in a timely manner
- Support and assist in the planning and tracking the fleet general activity
- Continually reviewing plans to ensure they are efficient and costeffective
- Working closely with different departments and gaining their knowledge in order to maintain an effective and seamless operation
- Managing accurate ETA's and daily POD clearance ensuring any repeated issues are escalated to the Depot Manager
- Ensuring all runs are issued and drivers depart in a timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge of the Health, Safety and Quality Management, in order to confidentially address noncompliance and create a positive workplace culture.
- Responsibility for ensuring drivers legal compliance is adhered to on drivers' hours, defect reporting and tachograph rules.
- Support and assist Depot Manager in performing delegated tasks to a high standard.
Requirements:

Hours:
Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week,
7am-4pm
Salary:
£28,000**
