About Our Client:

My client is a leading FMCG, Manufacturer who due to growth require a Transport Supervisor to join their team.

  • Support and promote the correct driver safety behaviours to deliver conditions for a safe working environment.
  • Manage, lead and motivate the drivers and transport office support staff day to day, including resource planning, recruitment, induction, training, coaching, increasing retention, disciplinary, absence management and probation reviews.
  • Coordinate transport effectively via shift handovers and at the wider business daily operational review meetings.
  • Work closely with the operational teams to ensure delivery targets and KPIs are met.
  • Manage the daily workflow and development of drivers and transport office support staff.
  • Supervision of drivers and real time tracking of daily load and route plan, expediting solutions to delays and altering plan to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Conduct daily briefings and debriefing with the drivers.
  • Ensure that all drivers remain legally compliant.
  • Ensure the transport costs remain on target, specifically by balancing the use of external transport, with the use of own fleet and by driving efficiently within own fleet.
  • Use of problemsolving tools and knowledge sharing to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist with maintenance of risk assessments, safe systems of works and standard operating procedures.
  • Prompt and accurate investigation and resolution of all hazards, near misses and accidents.
  • Ensure farm delivery end point assessments and all systems are up to date, ensure any follow up action is completed.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to support full adherence to the industry regulatory standards.

The Successful Applicant:


  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of transport industry compliance, including Operator Licence requirements essential
  • Good understanding of management practices and techniques essential
  • Previous experience of leading a team of drivers essential
  • Strong management and leadership skills essential
  • Experience of working in a fastmoving environment essential
  • Assertive, resilient and welcomes change essential
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills essential
  • Sound route planning knowledge essential
  • Excellent time management, results orientated and organised essential


  • Proven IT competence

  • Excel, Outlook, fleet tracking system essential
