    Role: Workshop Technician - Quickflange

    Location: Carnforth, UK

    Main purpose of the role:

    To participate in testing and development activities as well as more general workshop support for the Business Unit and Technical Team at our Carnforth service centre for Quickflange equipment and materials, in order to support the global business and meet Customer requirements. This will include but not limited to Stock control, Equipment Maintenance, testing, problem solving/root cause identification and Customer training both in the workshop and potentially on sites.

    Additionally, assist in General workshop duties including supporting other ICR services, the application of HSEQ controls, full QA/QC of all product and service lines prior to dispatch if workloads allow. This will involve ensuring any work is carried out within agreed time periods.

    Main tasks:

    • Ensure that the interface between the operations teams in both Aberdeen and Carnforth is maintained and daily, weekly and monthly deliverables are achieved across all product and service lines, where applicable.
    • To support and run testing activities both on the bench and in the test adhering to methodical procedures and sequences to test and also identify any failings that may arise in a safe and controlled manner.
    • Assist with the management & development of BMS related processes under supervision with respect to testing or maintenance activites.
    • Manage the use and booking out of inventory to ensure all minimum/maximum levels are maintained and are continuously available;
    • Assist with organising general workshop tasks for other ICR service lines if workload demands/allows;
    • Support the maintenance and continual improvement of company asset registers and trackers;
    • Responsibility for ensuring that the Workshop, and Training Areas are adequately maintained, organised and kept in a clean, safe and tidy condition;
    • Provide weekly updates to Operations Engineer/ QuickflangeTM Business Unit Leader on all activities planned or in progress.
    • To carry out planned and "as required" maintenance and testing of QuickflangeTM equipment, but also any On-site machines or Leak Repair Equipment as the business need arises.
    • To perform QA/QC activities on all manufactured flanges and kit arriving from 3rd party manufacturers or other ICR supported locations.
    • Pack and arrange delivery worldwide of flanges and equipment in accordance with Business Unit Procedures.
    • Test and certify equipment for mobilisation in a safe manner, helping to produce C of C's for the client.
    • Ensure toolbox talks and risk assessments are carried out and signed off in-line with any testing of pressurised equipment
    • Carry out routine stock takes of all QuickflangeTM equipment, including; tooling, flanges, training equipment and ancillaries. Maintain stock levels in accordance with agreed requirements.
    • General workshop duties including maintenance of ICR Moss equipment and jigs and fittings required for jobs or maintenance activities if workloads allow.
    • Train clients and other QuickflangeTM technicians in the use of QuickflangeTM in order to provide the correct level of assessment for the skills required. This will only be required after sufficient experience and training is provided.
    • Be pro-active with process improvement ideas with regards the Service Realisation and other processes.
    • Installation of QuickflangeTMon the customers site in a safe and timely manner when required. This may be also offshore. Training will be provided.
    • Maintain records in accordance with internal quality systems, procedures and ISO 9001.
    • Comply with the Company Quality and Health and Safety procedures.
    • Ensure good, safe working practices in the workshop are maintained at all times with compliance to the Company's HSE policies.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Support the Business Unit with all testing, development and investigation activities.
    • Assist with planning and controls to ensure efficient use of space and resources throughout area of responsibility to meet agreed schedules.
    • Manage day to day deliverables and ensure client deadlines are met;
    • Manage QA/QC of all goods out of the facility and when appropriate arrange and manage 3rd party inspections for goods to be released;
    • Ensure all reporting mechanisms are communicated and used across the department;
    • Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and coach with assistance from Operations Engineer.
    • Deliver any training requirements.

    • QuickflangeTM workshop run in an efficient, safe manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Testing is carried out in a methodical manner to show success where applicable but also points of failure when and if these arise.
    • Highest quality outputs to be achieved with observations/NCR's reported – focus on delivery and quality each and every time;
    • All QuickflangeTM warehouse operations in compliance with Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures and in accordance with legal obligations.

    Mandatory Training Requirements:

    • Relevant test, repair or manufacturing experience;
    • Knowledge of safe working practices including, but not limited to Lock out/ Tag Out, Pressurised Testing and Hydraulic Systems
    • IT skills: Microsoft Word and Excel (minimum).
    • Trained as a trainer as soon as practicable.
