    This exciting opportunity to become a part of the Therapy team on the new Critical care unit at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford is not to be missed.

    The Therapy team is led by highly skilled specialist Band 7 Physiotherapists supported by a clinical lead Physiotherapist and offers a unique experience working in our new state of the art Intensive care unit.

    The team also includes dedicated Occupational therapists for the unit as a part of the MDT.

    The post holder will be a part of the team which provides respiratory Physiotherapy to our most acutely unwell patients on the unit.

    There is the opportunity to teach and support more junior staff and to learn and work alongside all members of the MDT involved with these patients.

    The team provide a seven day service to the unit and participate in the Trust Respiratory Physiotherapy On-call rota. The post holder will also have the opportunity to deputize for the Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team and to be actively involved with training within the Department

    18 months' Band 5 experience in a range of rotations
    ~ Band 5 rotational experience in Critical Care/ Acute Respiratory
    ~ Experience of participation in a respiratory physiotherapy on call service
    ~ Experience in similar role at Band 6 level
    ~ Knowledge of the role of Physiotherapy in Critical Care
    Knowledge of the different roles within the MDT on Critical care
    Knowledge of ventilator and Tracheostomy weaning in Critical care
    Evidence of well developed respiratory physiotherapy assessment and treatment skills
    Evidence of ability to supervise and teach Junior staff or students.
    Able to apply clinical reasoning in the management of a Critical care patient
    Able to demonstrate good leadership skills in absence of senior
    Physiotherapy degree
    Flexible and adaptable
