An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Band 7 preceptorship or 8a posts for Clinical/ Forensic Psychologists to work full time in the adult autism assessment service (AAAS) and the specialist autism team (SAT).

The AAAS Service is an autism diagnostic service.

The (SAT) work with young people (14+ years) and adults. SAT offer post diagnostic support to young people and adults with autism and their family/carers. The service is placed within the Families, Young People, Children's, and Learning Disability Directorate. The AAAS assessment service is for adults aged 18 years plus.

LPT is a university teaching and research NHS trust.

The SAT and the AAAS are part of a world leading research centre in autism, ADHD, psychiatric epidemiology, based at the University of Leicester.


Successful applicants will be supported to obtain an honorary academic title at the University of Leicester based on their research experience.

There will be protected time to pursue research interests.

The role is an ideal opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of multi-disciplinary professionals. The SAT and the AAAS also provide consultancy and advice to health colleagues as well as to community providers. Specialist supervision and CPD is supported in the role.
