    Our Breast Screening and Assessment Clinics are staffed by dedicated multi-disciplinary teams of Consultant Radiologists, Consultant Radiographers, Advanced practitioners, Mammographers, clinical and administration staff, recalling women to obtain a definitive diagnosis of all potential screen detected abnormalities.

    This is achieved by following the principles of triple assessment mammography/ultrasound, clinical examination and needle biopsy.


    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    Previous experience working in a Breast Screening ServiceBasic appreciation of patient care and knowledge of the requirements of a Assistant Practitioner role in the care of patients, their visitors and carers, and to colleaguesAbility to work in a multidisciplinary teamSafety awareness skills utilising imaging equipmentProfessional and cooperative attitude towards patients, customers and colleaguesExperience working with Mammography Equipment in a clinical environmentFlexibility to work the shifts required Main duties of the job What you will do: As a Senior Assistant Practitioner at Dorset Breast Screening Unit, you will be performing routine Mammography examinations efficiently and effectively for covering the whole of the Dorset county; adhering to best practices stated in the NHSBSP guidelines and under a strict local scope of practice.

    The post holder will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and technical standard of work, complying with relevant Codes of Practice.
