Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Newcastle.


We offer a wide-ranging curriculum to our Further Education students, including Arboriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal Management, Countryside and the Environment, Engineering, Equine, Floristry, Motorsport, Professional Tree Surgery, Outdoor Adventure Sport, Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness and Uniformed Public Services.

The role is 37 hours per week, sometimes 'out of hours', and although based in York will cover all of our campuses.

  • Student Ambassadors

Main purpose of the role:


  • The development and delivery of an innovative programme of student recruitment activity to maximise recruitment opportunities with target markets, working with target feeder schools/colleges
  • The coordination of an innovative and energetic recruitment team that develops and maintains a network of key influencers/stakeholders, both internal and external to the College
  • To embed evaluation and monitoring into all activities in order to ensure the team proactively approaches target schools/colleges with tailored activity for best effect
  • To ensure that all members of the Student Recruitment and Enquiries team maintain up to date knowledge of the college and its offer
  • To oversee communication and engagement with school, college and other stakeholders for recruitment for all college campuses
  • To ensure local delivery of marketing, event and internal communications support across all sites through self and the Student Recruitment Assistant
  • To contribute to the development of marketing campaigns for careers' leads/influencers and relevant schoolbased curriculum links in conjunction with the Student Recruitment and Applications Manager and the Marketing and Development Manager
  • To coordinate the college and university centre open events both in person and digitally, communicating clear event plans and feedback to curriculum, support and senior leadership teams
  • To work closely with current students through the Student Ambassador Scheme, assisting the Student Recruitment Assistant to recruit, train and supervise a team of Student Ambassadors across the York and Middlesbrough campuses
