    Description
    What does the role involve? We need a Corporate Solicitor to join our growing Corporate Team, based in our Cambridge office. You will undertake a broad mix of corporate work including M&A, corporate finance, equity capital markets, private equity, joint ventures and general corporate advisory work. You will advise clients ranging from start-ups through to substantial private companies and PLCs on a broad range of corporate issues and transactions and much of your work will have an international aspect. What experience is required? You will ideally have a minimum of 6 years PQE, gained within the Corporate field. You will have a good background in transactional work. You will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of, and an interest in business development. What skills and attributes would I need?
    • Experience of transactional work
    • Evidence of understanding what is needed to help grow and develop a corporate practice
    • Willingness to initiate and participate in marketing and business development activities
    • Technically strong
    • Excellent drafting and verbal/written communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Good time and file management skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and team skills
    Who will I be working with? You will be joining an 8 partner team in Cambridge, working alongside Tom Pickthorn , Stephen Hamilton and Dona Ardeman , to name a few. You will also work with members of the wider corporate team nationally, which has 24 partners. The NSL is supported by professional support lawyers. Pre-employment screening Please note that, in the event that we make an offer for a role, we will conduct pre-employment screening that includes, but is not limited to, a basic DBS check, right to work check, any disciplinary history recorded with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and a self-declaration to assess your character and suitability for the role. Disclosure and barring service check and security clearance This post is also subject to a satisfactory response from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) (to check for any previous criminal convictions and cautions) and, given the nature of the work-type, you may also be required to undergo national security vetting to SC level ¿ the latter can be undertaken following commencement of employment.
