    Description

    Responsibilities

  • Produce and review mechanical piece part drawings and General Assemblies (GA) using Creo Elements
  • Support the creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOM)
  • Provide mechanical engineering support to the Mechanical Design Engineering team
  • Define and apply appropriate Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to mechanical designs
  • Define and apply appropriate standards, materials and finishes in accordance with project requirements
  • Maintain documents and drawings through development and production changes
  • Support schedule and work package estimates, where required
  • Collaboratively support other engineering functions from a mechanical drawing perspective
  • To be aware of and comply with company standards of conduct and all relevant statutory requirements
  • Raise and action Change Notes (CN)
  • Manage and adhere to configuration management processes for baseline control throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Review output of junior members of the team
  • General Operational duties

  • Attend department meetings as required
  • Remain compliant with all applicable processes and procedures
  • Support the Mechanical Line Manager in developing and growing a professional and engaged team
  • Essential Skills
  • Proficient user of Creo Elements
  • Strong knowledge of GD*T and BS 8888
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques
  • Experience
  • Strong experience in an Electrical CAD position
  • Understanding and working knowledge of electrical related Defence Standards, including Military Standards (. Def Stan
  • Ability to work independently on own initiative, as well as within a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment
  • Hold SC clearance or ability to achieve it
  • Experience of working within a regulated industry (. automotive, aviation, defence, rail
  • Experience in the use of Windchill PLM
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Defence programs
