I have a very interesting opportunity for an Environmental Sustainability Engineer to join a leading Aerospace & Defence organisation. The role is based out of Warton, Preston and is hybrid working of 2–3 days per week onsite. You MUST be eligible for SC Clearance to be considered for this role.


What you'll be doing:

Working with the Product teams, suppliers and customers to achieve our ambition to deliver more sustainable products without compromising performance by; Setting the processes and capabilities to produce the product artefactsEnvironmental legislation and regulation impact assessmentEnvironmental strategy and early lifecycle development constraints/rulesProduct Environmental analysisIdentification of opportunities to reduce environmental impactIdentification of product sustainability risk (materials, obsolescence)Life Cycle AssessmentClimate Impact assessment (GHG, carbon foot printing)Sustainability assessmentsEnvironmental justifications/ case statementsCapability assets (process, training, toolsets)Regulatory inputsYou'll also have people manager responsibilities in this role.

Essential Skills & Experience Relevant engineering experience (STEM degree or equivalent Environmental qualifications)Process Development experienceProduct Environmental and/or Product Sustainability knowledgeDesirable Skills & Experience IEng or CEng with Institute of Environmental Management and AssessmentPeople management experienceUnderstanding of REACH legislationThis is perfect for someone that has done this kind of role before in another Aerospace & Defence organisation or a company/industry that has put Environmental Sustainability at the forefront of their business.
