    SALARY



    DAYS shift.
    Monday to Friday (4.5 days)
    £16.00 to £19.00 basic rate (negotiable at interview).
    25 days holiday (plus statutory public holidays).

    JOB SUMMARY



    Alecto are recruiting for a highly acclaimed Precision Engineering business in the Southampton area.

    The client are looking for a Multi Skilled CNC Machinist with experience in Programming, Setting and Operating CNC Mills and / or Lathes.

    A company specialising in manufacturing components for a variety of sectors within the Precision Engineering Industry.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



    Program, set up, and operate CNC machines, ensuring accurate and efficient production of precision components.
    Perform offline programming using industry-standard software, optimising machine utilisation and reducing downtime.
    Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on CNC machines to ensure their optimal performance.
    Collaborate with the production team to develop and implement manufacturing processes and techniques.
    Perform quality inspections using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and other inspection tools, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
    Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the production process.
    Adhere to health and safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment.

    REQUIREMENTS



    Previous experience operating and programming CNC machines is essential.
    Proficiency in setting up and adjusting CNC machines for different production runs.
    Strong knowledge of G-code programming and CAD/CAM software.
    Experience with offline programming techniques to optimise production efficiency.
    Familiarity with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and inspection processes.
    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
    Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
    Good communication and teamwork skills.
    Adherence to health and safety regulations.
