    Description

    Position: Software Engineer (C#, C++)



    Company: Cutting-Edge Defence Technology



    Location: Bristol / Stevenage



    Security Clearance Level: SC


    Duration: Long-term contract (12+ Months)


    Work Pattern: Onsite (3 days onsite & Overtime available if required)


    Pay Rate: £60 - £70 Per Hour Umbrella Inside IR35



    Overview of Department:

    Our team plays a vital role in advancing weapon systems and system architectures. We are dedicated to supporting developments throughout the entire product life cycle.

    We blend real products, models, and synthetic environments to create visualizations, demonstrations, and verification & validation tools, along with providing training capability and support.


    Responsibilities:
    • Contribute to the development of cutting-edge defence systems using various simulation technologies like digital twins and emulators.
    • Collaborate with Project Leads and Simulation Architects to design and build simulation components representing weapon systems in synthetic environments using C# and C++.
    • Work in an agile development team with engineers of various disciplines to create simulations of real equipment.
    • Follow software development best practices such as configuration control, continuous integration, continuous delivery, unit testing, and test-driven development.

    Requirements:
    • Proficiency in C# / C++
    • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Eclipse
    • Ability to transition from high-level views to technical specifics
    • Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems

    Desired Skills:

    • Knowledge of distributed simulation standards/protocols (DIS, HLA, DDS) and web services development (JavaScript, Node.js, or similar)
    • Understanding of military communications, datalinks, and interfaces like 1553/1760 and Ethernet TCP/IP
    • Practical experience with system integration principles and processes
