    Description

    Purpose of the Role:

    Manage all aspects of Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental compliance. Ensure the successful delivery of service excellence at Covent Garden. To support the development and delivery of the QHSE strategy, policies, and processes. Work collaboratively with the Operational Management & Client team to ensure a safe and healthy working environment, adherence to related statutory duties and the furthering of best practice standards.

    Job detail:


    •Manage and deliver the compliance to OHSAS 45001, 14001 & 9001 standards and in accordance with OCS, client and site-specific policies and procedures.


    •Operate independently within confines of contractual obligations and parameters set by Line Management.


    •To support reviews of existing Policies, Procedures, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work including an appraisal of how these are implemented in the workplace.


    •To provide guidance and practical expertise on QHSE issues, ensuring there is appropriate day-to-day support and guidance to both internal and external customers.


    •Determine priorities and make decisions of contractual impact.


    •Have overall accountability for the delivery of services as per the specification and manage risk by use of appropriate contingencies.


    •Perform daily site workaround's and analyse performance and adherence to company standards.


    •Maintain a prominent level of presentation and H&S awareness in all areas and report and areas for improvement.


    •Establish and maintain key client, colleagues and stakeholder relationships and ensures client expectations are achieved and exceeded.


    •Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client and staff information.


    •Responsible for operating the site H&S management system ensuring 100% H&S compliance is always maintained.


    •Manage and monitor the control of contractors, including Annual Permissions, Work Permits, inductions, and monitoring. Manage CDM responsibilities where applicable.


    •To ensure all work is conducted in a safe and appropriate manner in accordance with Health and safety legislation, OCS policies and procedures, risk assessments and method statements.


    •Audit PPM and reactive tasks to ensure complete in accordance with agreed deadlines and the relevant certification/documentation obtained and logged.


    •Ensure the successful delivery of Annual tenant and statutory inspections. Ensure all statutory and performance reports are completed as required and ensure all internal audits are conducted.


    •To conduct and support accident investigations, investigating serious injuries/incidents, recommending measures to prevent re-occurrences.


    •Monitor environmental compliance and continual drive to reduce our environmental impact.


    •Support with the safe and successful delivery of client lead events.


    •Attend regular meetings with the wider team to review delivery of services and agree ongoing objectives.


    •Provide support across other departments during periods of absence and in times of need.


    •Attend professional seminars and exhibitions, sharing best practice and developing innovation. Support the client and OCS with meeting business objectives, including H&S and CSR


    •Accountable for contract for department financial performance and risk management and working within budgetary guidelines.


    •Promoting innovative ways to add value and reduce costs within the team and contract.


    •Manage management team training matrix and records and coordinate L&D.


    •Identify, source, and implement training & toolbox talks.


    •Accommodate any additional reasonable management instruction.

    Other Key Responsibilities

    Able to deliver a high standard of work in a fast-paced environment. To focus & prioritise to meet deadlines with flexible approach to working time to meet deadlines Adapt a 'don't walk by' approach and fully collaborate with other departments.

    Regular liaison with client counterpart, providing reports and attending meetings.

    Lead and chair the OCS Covent Garden Safety Action Group.

    Requirements:

    Advanced PC Skills. Computer Literate (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

    Understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

    Sustainability focused knowledge within the industry.

    Understanding of Building Safety Act Regulations

    Understanding of Fire Safety

    Working knowledge of an online compliance risk management system

    Working at height, CDM, asbestos awareness, Legionella responsible person

    IOSH Managing Safely

    MBIFM preferred.

    First Aid at Work/Mental Health first aid

    NEBOSH or equivalent

    Chartered Member of IOSH (desirable)
