    As part of the TUV family Risktec Resourcing have been tasked to assist our sister company TUV Rheinland Industrial Services (TRIS) in recruiting for a Rotating Machines Engineer for our Belasis office.

    Role Overview
    The role is for an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer with related experience and technical skills/capabilities in Rotating Equipment (RE) across all forms of machinery. The candidate will work with the Integrity Management Team and is required to provide high level technical consultation/support to clients in all aspects of RE lifecycle management, maintenance, and life extension. Support will also be given to our Projects Team with roles such as Client Technical Authority and Machinery Design Verification Engineer being delivered. The candidate will develop value adding concepts and technologies to address company challenges and enhance its operation.

    Main Accountabilities – Responsibilities, Tasks & Interactions

    Technical contribution
    Provides technical consultation for equipment including dynamic (e.g. centrifugal), positive displacement (e.g. reciprocating) pumps & compressors, gearboxes and steam / gas turbines.
    • Provides advice on compliance with Legislation and technology including Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations, PUWER, DSEAR and Machinery Functional Safety.
    • Involved in specifying and reviewing equipment designs, selections, ratings and specifications for new projects including existing equipment modifications.
    • Develops and delivers training courses for internal company development and to public courses for external training.
    • Develops/introduces new technologies/innovative ideas to address business challenges or/and enhance equipment reliability/availability/performance.
    • Leads in developing and recommending solutions to solve plant machinery technical issues.
    • Provides work direction, technical advice and mentoring to teammates and junior engineers.
    Contract management
    Monitors contract progress against milestones. Identifies variation requests to support contract claims issuing. Assists with the production of contract proposals.

    Planning and control
    Produces and follows work plans and cost estimates in one's area of responsibility. Ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost.

    Risk and opportunity management
    Supports risk assessments and implementation of resulting actions in one's area of responsibility. Documents and handles technical risks according to mitigation guidelines.

    Customer
    Clarifies technical queries and progresses actions for customers. Interacts with all customers, other staff and contractors at all levels.

    Processes and tools
    Uses standard processes, software and tools applicable to the business and all customers. Reports process and tool inefficiencies, along with suggesting ideas for improvement.

    Requirements – Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill & Experience
    Essential

    · A master's degree in mechanical engineering from a recognised and approved program (advanced degree is preferred).
    · At least 5 years of experience in Rotating Equipment within refineries, chemical plants, gas plants or similar facilities. Alternatively experience in a design role within an engineering contractor at senior level will be considered.
    · Can demonstrate experience in analysing performance, troubleshooting, selecting, and repair of rotating equipment including auxiliary components such as seals, bearings and lube oil systems.
    · Detailed knowledge of international codes and API standards related to rotating equipment.
    · A chartered engineer or working towards chartership with IMechE.
    · Must submit at least two recent engineering reports or case histories on the subject of rotating equipment authored by you.
