It's worth mentioning, we have around 8 different Data Engineering opportunities live currently, even if you don't feel your profile is relevant for the role mentioned below, we encourage you to apply anyway to discuss one of the other positions.

A well established Quant Fund we are working with is looking to develop a new high frequency data platform to support the development and deployment of new strategies.

The sort of work you would get exposure to includes: building greenfield market data processing systems that will handle very large amounts of market/exchange data, data lake development using AWS Glue, Apache Kafka/Airflow and dbt, and more traditional end-to-end Data Pipeline development. Lastly, part of this role would look at the onboarding and development of model data sets, working with Quant Researchers and traders to implement across stratagies.

This is an engineering focused Data Engineering position, meaning candidates would be expected to be competent Python/Java programmers with a good knowledge of their respective language and writing production ready code that will be deployed on the cloud.

    :

    • Development of end-to-end ETL Data Pipelines
    • Architect and build Market Data processing systems that will deal with Tick Data, Order Book data and Trade Data.
    • Working collaboratively with the wider data engineering function to develop a next generation data lake.
    • Data Modelling of various datasets

    :

    • Strong Java or Python skills - ability to write production ready code
    • Experience deploying code to AWS utilising relevant tools.
    • Previous experience with AWS Glue, dbt, Airflow and Dagster
    • Good communication skills, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
    • Excellent SQL skills
