Senior User Experience Designer - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom - Arm

    Default job background
    Engineering / Architecture
    Description

Are you an experienced, pro-active product designer who loves working with new teams to nurture a culture of exploration and collaboration? Our mission in the Developer Ecosystems group is to make building software on Arm simple, and we're looking for a senior designer to deliver brilliant experiences to the customers using our performance optimization tooling.

You'll be supported by our Developer Ecosystem UX team, who work across a broad range of exciting products focused on improving the experience of building on Arm.

    Job Overview:

During the contract, you'll be responsible for delivering a compelling user experience on our performance tools, particularly Frame Advisor, which helps games developers to optimize the performance of their mobile games. Because we're a small team, you'll need to be confident to work across research and design roles, and take the lead on this work.

We're building out our DesOps function so that we can more easily scale across the business, so you'll also contribute to our new design system, and share ideas for improvements to our processes.

    Responsibilities:

    **Research**

Conduct research with relevant customers, and build a user panel to aid quick and efficient research

Build out personas and journey maps to communicate user needs and pain points

Collect metrics to understand areas for improvement

    **Design**

Develop feature hypotheses to measure success

Collaborate with the product team to design planned features in a way that solves the problems you've identified, focusing on user flows and journeys

Validate concepts and designs with users before engineering work starts

Ensure usability of the product by running regular usability testing, and work with the engineering team to priorities and address issues

    **Ops**

Contribute to the design system and team processes.

Be an encouraging and supportive member of the team.

    Required Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate would have proven experience working on complex B2B tools, as well as running UX projects and integrating UX processes into engineering teams.

"Nice To Have" Skills and Experience:

    • Experience in the games industry.
    • Skills in data visualization
