    ACN3 (£96,963 - £128,841) or AM3B (£80,505 - £103,242) per annum

    Edinburgh Dental Institute/Deanery of Clinical Sciences

    Full-time - 40 hours per week

    3 Year Fixed Term Post

    The Opportunity:

    The University of Edinburgh is seeking to appoint a full-time Senior Clinical Lecturer, for 3 years fixed term, to support the delivery of Postgraduate education and training within the discipline of Restorative Dentistry and its sub-specialties of Prosthodontics and Endodontics. The role is based at the Edinburgh Dental Institute (EDI). Candidates must be registered with the General Dental Council.

    Placement on either the ACN3 or the AM3B payscale will be subject to seniority. Successful candidates appointed at ACN3 level, and who have completed appropriate training, will be offered an Honorary NHS Consultant contract with NHS Lothian and will be offered an additional 1x Academic EPA pro rata.

    Successful candidates appointed on the AM3B payscale will not be entitled Honorary consultant status or an additional academic EPA.

    If you are currently a member of the NHS Pension Scheme and are employed in a clinical post it may be possible for you to remain a member of the NHS Pension Scheme.

    Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Proficient in the clinical supervision of Undergraduate or Postgraduate Students
  • Skills and experience in organisation and planning of teaching sessions for PG taught students within the restorative disciplines
  • Ability to effectively design and supervise postgraduate research projects at MSc level or above
  • Ability to take full responsibility for independent clinical management of patients with complex Restorative treatment needs
