The Opportunity


QBE EO is about to embark on a journey of growth in Data and Analytics through the implementation of Collibra, a data governance solution that will help us automate metadata management ensuring both technical and business data lineage is captured consistently across the data estate.

As such, we are looking for an experienced Data Governance Analyst to join an Agile organisation where you will be responsible for developing and embedding data governance capabilities across the organisation.

Your strong foundation in data governance, technical and communication skills, and ability to engage and work with stakeholders will ensure success in this role.


The Data Governance Specialist will work with data management teams to ensure that data is secure and accessible when needed.

They will also support the management and attestation of data quality ensuring QBE EO achieves Solvency II compliance and the establishment of best practice across the business.

Your New Role

Data Governance - Embedment of the Data Excellence Strategy

  • Support implementation of the longterm data excellence strategy.
  • Development, implementation and enforcement of data governance processes, policies and standards for compliance and integrity in the consumption, manipulation, and maintenance of data.
  • Log, coordinate, and assist in the resolution of actions coming out of the Data Governance Working Group and the Data Governance Council.
  • Be an advocate for data governance and promote data management best practices consistently across the organisation.
Metadata Management - Implementation, rollout, and maintenance of Collibra

  • Lead the implementation of Collibra and provide the organisation with a comprehensive knowledge base which will act as a selfservice, online library of everything there is to know about the data landscape.
  • Ensure capabilities of Collibra are maximised and embedded across the organisation to ensure thorough understanding of the data and all relationships that exist between the data and the other business assets using that data, such as reports or processes.
  • Ensure Collibra processes are fully documented and referenced in line with agreed processes and formats.
  • Create data flow and data mapping diagrams for specific processes/capabilities.
  • Create data lineage diagrams for specific processes/capabilities.
  • Be able to create a basic logical data model outlining key entities, attributes, and relationships.
  • Develop and deliver tailored training to Collibra business users.
Regulatory Compliance - Ensure Compliance of Solvency II regulation

  • Responsible for the Solvency II data governance framework and responsible for driving through full compliance with all data quality related areas of Solvency II and further Lloyd's regulatory requirements.
  • Data Directory ensure the Data Directory project activities supporting the completion of the Solvency II work stream are successfully completed. Review and agree the ongoing support requirements of the Data Directory and provide support to ongoing compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement - Communicate results and advise key stakeholders

  • Communicate reasons for data issues to technical and nontechnical users, tailoring the message for different stakeholders (technology, business, executive).
  • Communicate with business users to explain the importance of data governance and how it can help the company.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure they understand the data excellence strategy and how it benefits the company.
