    Description

    The post is full-time (37 hours per week) term time only and is temporary for two years in the first instance.

    In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £20,593-£21,679 per annum (£24,010.Primarily the role involves delivering support strategies which will assist the student's individual learning and social needs and their academic studies.

    You will also provide more wide-reaching support to all students at the College for example helping with revision strategies, time management and essay planning.


    Candidates will ideally have experience of working with students with special education needs and will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to use their initiative and have a calm demeanour.


    The Achievement and Support department is at the heart of the college and working as a Learning Mentor offers colleagues the opportunity to work within an experienced department and to make a real difference to students.

    Providing learning support for students in class and one to one situations

    Working with the subject teachers, parents, progress mentor and the Inclusion Manager regarding the needs of the student, including adaptations, materials and direct support are incorporated into lessons

    Liaising with student's teachers, parents, progress mentors and the Inclusion Manager etc regarding the needs of the student, including adaptations, materials and direct support are incorporated into lessons

    Supporting the student in participating in teaching activities and any follow-up tasks e.g. group activities and homework

    Assisting the Inclusion Manager with monitoring achievement of the student, through the review process. Carrying out such other duties, as the job develops, as may be reasonably required by the Principal in accordance with the College's flexible approach to the efficient delivery of a quality support service

    Ability to relate well to young people of this age range
