Description

The post holder will work within the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) Pathology Business Unit (PBU) which is responsible for the successful implementation of an ICB wide service, including three NHS Trusts, Pathology Transformation projects.

Underpinned by experience of the project management in a complex acute NHS setting, the project manager will demonstrate their understanding of the objectives of the services within scope and lean on their experience to comprehensively consider requirements for implementation.


  • Assist liaising with other Trust divisions and interested parties to facilitate improvements Act as ICS Pathology Quality Manager, responsible for quality, governance, risk and safety
  • Manage ICS contract performance with regards to Key Performance Indicators (KPI), activity performance and rectification plan
  • Appraise, recommend, authorise rectification plans according to clinical and service needs
  • Represents pathology in the wide context of the Trust and deputise at external forums where required and in the absence of the Pathology Service Manager
  • Assist service and policy development and for ensuring all pathology services complies with the current ISO15189:2012 standard, national and European legislation and all discipline specific regulatory bodies
Project management with effective team working.
