    Job overview:
This post is a fixed term for six to eighteen months. To commence 1st February 2023.


The post would be ideal for either a post IMT3-ST4 or a mid-scheme ST5-6, an experienced SHO or Specialist Registrar, who has a clinical background involving Dermatology.

The successful applicant would also have an interest in medical education and educational research.


Please note, this post is aligned to Trust specific pay scales and terms and conditions of service and is not linked to the 2016 doctors in training terms and conditions of service and pay scales.

Main duties of the job:

The post will be 50% Undergraduate Medical Education and 50% Clinical within Dermatology.

The Dermatology Department provides clinical teaching for medical students based at NUH from the University of Nottingham Medical School. This is a two week module which takes place between early February to end of September.


The teaching fellow will organise delivery of the teaching and assist with development of the course structure, assessments and materials.

The role holder will also deliver taught sessions, clinical teaching and mandatory assessments that are part of each module.

The rest of their time will be spent supporting teaching activities within NUH, attending tuition for the M.MedSci in Medical Education and continuing professional development (CPD).

Training & Qualifications:


Essential criteria:


  • GMC Full registration
  • MBBS or equivalent

Desirable criteria:


  • Distinction, prizes or honours during Postgraduate training

Experience:


Essential criteria:


  • Satisfactory completion of clinical training attachments both in central (Teaching) and peripheral (District General) acute hospitals

Desirable criteria:


  • Clinical experience in Dermatology as a doctor, or equivalent experience
  • Project management experience.

Teaching:


Essential criteria:


  • Enthusiastic and experienced in teaching clinical skills in the workplace or training environment to junior staff and students

Desirable criteria:


  • Experience of teaching to multidisciplinary groups Has successfully completed a 'training the trainers' or 'teaching skills' course Presentations at local/regional/national meetings

Research/Audit:


Essential criteria:


  • Evidence of active participation and completion of an audit project

Desirable criteria:


  • Participation in a clinicallybased research project.

The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
