It is an exciting time for Southern Housing as we merge Optivo and Southern Housing Group, two companies who will be Stronger Together.
Having worked with the same communities for decades, we have combined our work in our core communities to create a "big but local" organisation.
Managing over 77,000 homes, Southern Housing is dedicated to delivering excellent services and improving our resilience. We are also keen to build new homes and grow our organisation.
Our vision is to create communities where everyone has a safe home in a place where they're proud to live.
Residents are at the heart of our services, and we use our size to influence positive change in the areas where we operate.
Our values are at the HEART of what we do. As an employee, you will always be honest, working with integrity and respect. You will ensure you work in an efficient and responsive way. You will be accountable and will make effective decisions within your role. You will be professional and respectful and be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, you will be a trusted and respected team member.
The RoleYou'll be the 1st point of contact for all customers calling through to the busy contact centre.
The calls you'll receive will vary; some will be transactional queries and some calls will be of a much more sensitive nature.
Customers may be upset if they have financial problems, issues with their property, or poor mental health for example, and may just need someone to talk to.
Therefore, it's important you're confident when speaking to different customers, providing them with a friendly service, offering empathy and showing understanding of their situation.
The location
We are currently located in a modern, vibrant office in Horsham, which is right in the town centre and less than a 10-minute walk from Horsham train station.
You'll be 100% office-based initially to ensure you get the full training and support needed to enable you to carry out your role.
We also need to let you know that we'll be moving out of our Spire Court office in Horsham in 2023.
So, after that, this role will be relocated to another office which may include, but not limited to our offices in Croydon or our Head office in Farringdon.
Our Croydon office is a 10-minute walk from Croydon train station and nestled amongst various shops, restaurants, and bars. An ideal place to not only work but to socialise once your working day is doneWhat you'll have
You don't need to have years of call centre experience; we'll provide thorough training to give you the knowledge and system skills to set you up for success - as long as you have the right attitude and strong customer service skills.
No two customers, problems, or resolution journeys are the same.
Sometimes you won't know the right answer, but we're looking for someone who is always up for the challenge and resilient to keep going.
The role will also involve some admin duties, so you'll need to be comfortable using various computer programmes, systems and other tools when needed.
Rest assured, that working with us will empower you to be
_you,_ with a real sense of purpose and pride in everything you do.
