- Work with HSE Manager to define, publish and keep up to date the HSE Project Plan
- Line authority to task HSE Advisors to deliver the agreed plans
- Report on progress against the plan, recommend changes based on an ongoing assessment of HSE performance and risk management.
- HSE lead in client and site management meetings as needed
- To ensure that every person in the company follows company safety policies required under the law.
- Conduct risk assessments and list all the possible ways to reduce likelihood and severity.
- Regularly inspect the work areas to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.
- Ensure that the company supports safe working practices and complies with the law.
- Support the development of H&S strategies and plans.
- Record and review all workplace accidents and incidents for reporting and statistical purposes.
- Keep up to date with Health, safety and environmental legislation that will affect the company.
- Assist with creating management reports, including bulletins, newsletters, and toolbox talks.
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely.
- Ensure disposal of all waste and hazardous substances are carried out in line with safely and environmental legislation .
- Support the management team to maintain and improve
- Level 3 qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Management eg NEBOSH General Certificate [Essential] Level 5 or higher qualification in Occupational Health and Safety Management [Desirable]
- Management qualification and relevant experience. ILM Level 3 and/or 10 years demonstrable management experience [Essential]
- Teaching qualification eg Award in Education and Training Level 3 [Desirable]
- ISO 450001:2018 Lead Auditor and ISO 45001:2018 internal auditor experience [Desirable]
- Working knowledge of Environmental legislation and practices [Essential]
- Experience in HSE planning and leadership of large projects, particularly oil and gas and marine projects.
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills (including presentation skills).
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Capable of working with processes & procedures
- Clear & concise communicator
- Good understanding of customers & their requirements.
- Good planning & organisational skills.
- Ability to operate at various levels of the business, both externally & internally.
- Likely to have recent experience of Occupational Health and Safety at mid-senior or managerial levels.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple boundaries
- Able to build effective & productive customer relationships.
- Confident in challenging situations.
