Climate17 has partnered with a purpose-driven organisation and is looking for Strategic Business Development Manager to support our client's market diversification and growth strategy.


Our client has grown considerably in the past year with new contract wins in both core and emerging markets and this new role will help support a new venture for them.


Working closely as no2 to the Director of Environment, the Strategic Business Development Manager will be fundamental in shaping the growth of this exciting new division within the company.


The successful person will have the opportunity to draw on their extensive energy industry experience around retrofit and energy efficiency to form senior-level connections with local housing associations and local authorities, leveraging extensive, internaloperational support in order to deliver these contracts.

The role


The Strategic Business Development Manager will work closely with the Environment Director to develop the division's strategy including the long-term plan.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new division within a well-established and well-resourcedorganisation.


This is a strategic leadership role, which will enable one to deliver a real value to vulnerable UK communities, and drive climate action at the same time.


Key requirements:


  • Demonstrable experience in creating successful commercial relationships.
  • Excellent knowledge of Energy Efficiency & Retrofit including an understanding of processes, training requirements, and implementation.
  • Knowledge & experience of other sustainable / renewable energy technologies
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Comfortable in a driven 'scaleup' culture and environment.
  • Can adopt an entrepreneurial approach to identifying new markets and opportunities.

Desirable Attainments:


  • Experience of bid/tender writing
  • Experience of recruiting and managing a team
  • Experience of working with Local Authorities or Social Housing
  • Experience in developing and implementing business/departmental strategy.
  • Experience in reporting to, engaging with and developing relationships with the most seniorlevel stakeholders, both internally and externally.
