    Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional teacher to use their abilities and knowledge to work alongside the Senior Leadership Team in the development of our new secondary school. We moved to our new permanent site in the Chesterwell development in Summer 2023. The post will combine the opportunity to be part of an exciting and dynamic new school with the benefits of being part of the Alpha Trust, a supportive and high-performing MAT.

The successful candidate will work with the Senior Leadership Team to establish a school in which all students thrive. We are committed to excellence in all that we do and are unashamedly ambitious for the future success of our students.

The History Department at The Trinity School is a highly supportive and collaborative team with a strong emphasis on modelling and retrieval practice seen throughout our lessons, as well as regular opportunities for students to voice their opinions and develop their critical thinking skills. This opportunity comes at an exciting time, where we will be moving into our first year of KS4 teaching, which means the successful candidate will have an opportunity to utilise their knowledge of curriculum design and development and play a key part in preparing our first cohort of GCSE students. The successful candidate will also be joining the department as we move forward in developing our extra-curricular opportunities through off-site visits, guest speakers and student leadership roles within the subject. Through the implementation of a spiral curriculum, we introduce students to the fundamental substantive knowledge (key facts and information) and disciplinary knowledge (meta-concepts) of History in KS3, and these are then revisited in KS4 with increasing depth and complexity. This approach allows students to build upon their existing knowledge and concepts while deepening their understanding of the subject matter. This results in confident learners who are well equipped to engage with the past.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of History who will:

    • Be unashamedly ambitious for the future success of every child
    • Place the highest priority on outstanding teaching and learning
    • Model excellence and demonstrate a clear commitment to the school and its community
    • Have the vision and ability to help develop outstanding teaching and learning
    • Be a passionate advocate for our school community

If you are looking for an exciting, challenging and rewarding role within a supportive trust and have an unshakeable commitment to improving the lives of children, we look forward to receiving your application.

Appointment of the right candidate is also offered with priority admission for your child (subject to other criteria being met).
