Our client a leading firm of Chartered Accountants are seeking an Audit Manager to join their expanding media team in their West End office in London.


The role will involve managing a portfolio of media clients ranging from £500K plus, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.

You will also oversee junior members of the team and be involved with their training and development. The work will be spit approximately65% audit, 25% ad-hoc advise and 10% corporate tax.


Responsibilities and Key Duties include:

  • Managing a portfolio of media clients, ensuring that all deadlines are met, the work is carried out within budget, company evaluations are completed, and the job is finalised to minimise partner review time.
  • Dealing with substantive and controls based audits.
  • Managing the audit for large domestic groups and experience in group reporting.
  • Having expertise in delivery of the primary accounting frameworks (UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102 and IFRS).
  • Extensive experience with cross border groups.
  • Participating in other adhoc exercises such as investigations, due diligence, company valuations, employee share scheme advice and other duties as required by clients or partners.
  • Planning jobs and organising assignment to ensure the job is carried out in the most efficient way possible while considering firm wide productivity.
  • Carrying out all work and ensuring the work of staff is in line with ISO 9001 procedures.
  • Submitting accounts to Companies House
  • Submitting tax returns to HMRC
  • Providing clear instruction and constructive feedback to staff in a timely manner.
  • Training and mentoring trainees and ensuring they receive the correct work experience to meet professional standards.
  • Producing training material and regularly presenting training to trainees on specific media sector topics.
  • Taking an active role in practice development activities aiming to build on current client relationships and establish new opportunities.
  • Attending training and is committed to CPD, continually developing and increasing their knowledge and skills to give the best possible service and advice to clients and the firm's staff.
  • Assisting with billing procedures and debt collection where appropriate and in liaison with client partner.
  • Assisting with the preparation and presentation of new client pitches and being involved with marketing and business development opportunities.


You will ideally hold a professional qualification such as ACCA or ACA or equivalent and have a strong audit background in practice, with managerial experience and a good technical knowledge of UK GAAP and Auditing Standards.

Specialist media knowledge would also be helpful.
