    Description

    STRESS Engineer

    Staffordshire, UK

    Long Term Contract

    NOTE: This is HYBRID role: 3 days /week Onsite at Stafford and 2 days REMOTE

    Requirements:

    • Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace/aeronautical, manufacturing, preferred).
    • Engineer must have experience in 2D and 3D stress analysis, in particular structures such as cases/frames, blades, etc.) using the latest in modeling techniques, such as friction at interfaces, elastic/plastic, etc.
    • Engineer must be proficient in ANSYS Classic and a geometry/modeling program such as UG NX.
    • Prior experience with life analysis (low cycle fatigue and fracture mechanics) is preferred and the engineer should have demonstrated program management skills.
    • Engineer must be capable of performing the following stress analysis tasks:
    • Ownership of stress analysis of assigned components.
    • Collaborate with support functions as needed (stress analysis, life management, heat transfer, materials, design).
    • Ensure assigned components meet all technical and functional requirements.
    • Interface with global engineering organizations and other internal organizations (e.g. design) as required to support activity on assigned components.
    • Generate and deliver technical/program presentations to internal and external customers as required (systems tech review, design review and internal analysis review).
    • Write Design Study Summaries (Design Definition Record), Technical Memorandums, Coordination Memos, and Certification Reports as required to document design engineering activity on assigned components.

    Computer Requirements:

    • PC-based Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ANSYS Classic, UG NX, PLM Teamcenter, SAP, and other specified applications to complete mechanical design activities
