This is a unique opportunity for an experienced senior people leader, who has aspirations to be a Chief People Officer and is seeking development and support to get there.

It would also suit someone who wants to solidify their experience in a different environment or development their skills in a specialist NHS Trust.

The opportunity has arisen as the substantive post holder is taking a well-deserved career break.


Our Deputy Chief People Officer will inspire and lead HR and resourcing programmes, as well as contribute to a dynamic and challenging people agenda both in the Trust and across the system.

This is the most senior HR role below Board level with responsibility for professional advice that drives a positive employee and Trade Union relationship environment.

The DCPO will develop and drive a high-performance people and resourcing service, whilst also putting in place a range of large-scale improvement initiatives that give our people the best experience in the NHS.


This role reports to the Chief People Officer, and will work closely with the Deputy Chief People Officer for Organisational Development and Exec Director of Communications and Partnerships, alongside the Executive team and colleagues across the Birmingham and Solihull ICS in the development of relevant People Plans for the region alongside NHS Englands plans for the next 5 years.
