- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product specifications and requirements. Develop and document comprehensive test strategies to validate the performance, functionality, safety and reliability of products.
- Design and implement custom automation-based test solutions, coordinating test development projects via internal and external resources.
- Support FMEA activities to identify potential failure modes, their causes, and effects on product performance and reliability. Utilise FMEA outputs to prioritise testing efforts and design appropriate test methodologies.
- Support investigations into failures encountered during testing, collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure that testing processes comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO , IATF ). Participate in audits and reviews to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement configuration management practices to control changes to test systems. Maintain accurate documentation of test configurations and versions to support reproducibility and traceability.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation within the test development lifecycle. Implement best practices and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field
- A rich experience in test development, preferably in the medical device or automotive industry and incorporating a mix of optics, electronics, software, firmware, laser systems, and mechanical elements
- Knowledge of configuration management tools and practices to ensure the consistency and integrity of test environments
- Software skills / competencies
- Continuous Test, Integration, Development, Tooling and Processes
- 10 Years Plus Developing Software Automation tests on Windows and Linux
- Autonomation Test System design, implementation and deployment
- Extensive, hands-on experience programming in Python
- Power Shell, C#, C++, .NET
- Experience of test tools, we use Squish, PyWinAuto, Appium, WinApp driver
- Experience of fast paced Lean / Agile project delivery
- Experience of delivering software for medical devices
