A fantastic position has become available for a self-employed, enthusiastic and experienced grounds person/gardener working under the direction of the Garden Manager and her small team on a beautiful Georgian estate near Winchester.

The family owned friendly estate comprises 800 acres of farmland, which is farmed and managed by a local family, as well as historic ancient woodland, sweeping parkland and a two acre walled garden designed by one of the country's leading RHS Gold Medal landscape designers.

In return, the applicant will get the opportunity to be well remunerated and work with a friendly team, who are equally dedicated, in one of the most beautiful privately owned country estates in Hampshire that is maintained to the highest of standards.

A PA1/PA6 spray certificate and chain saw license would be preferable but training in both these areas can be offered if necessary.

Typically, the role will involve mowing, hedge and topiary cutting, weeding, pruning, pond maintenance, leaf clearing, general estate maintenance such as pool cleaning and car valeting as well as knowledge of garden machinery.

Above all, the successful candidate needs to be trustworthy, conscientious, wanting to work as part of a fantastic team, reliable, physically fit, self-motivated and have a great positive attitude.

Someone who can be relied upon to work on their own when the Garden Manager is not on site and the owners are away.
