2 Sisters Food Group are recruiting for a driven, diligent, and creative Agriculture Biodiversity and Sustainability Assistant to support a well-established team with several new projects.

About the Role:


Reporting directly to the Senior Agriculture Development Manager, the Agriculture Biodiversity and Sustainability Assistant will join a team that are part of the Group Technical function, integral to the UKP division, part of the Hook2sisters joint venture and reporting to the Group Technical Director.


The position will require an excellent knowledge and willingness to further improve your environmental/bio-diversity skills, a good basic understanding of agriculture, and general exposure to the Food Manufacturing sector.


As a key member of the Agricultural team this Assistant will take a full and active role in supporting the team to deliver brand protection activities and make 2SFG agriculture a POD.


Duties of the role will include:

  • Best practice account management
- regular contact, formalised KPI reporting & meeting structure

  • Day to day liaison on agricultural enviro/biodiversity issues / projects / performance
  • Close working relationship with H2S management to maintain understanding of the entire 2SFG agricultural supply chain
  • People capability
- work part of a team

  • To drive continuous improvement in the Agricultural function
  • Responsibility for nominated projects in the innovation pipeline to advance 2SFG Agricultural strategy and deliver added value for the business and customers
  • Sustainability
- to work with the Group Sustainability team on relevant issues in the Agricultural supply chain eg Soya, carbon, bio-diversity

  • Use our carbon data and add value from our farm's sequestrations and biodiversity assets
  • Excellent presentation skills, clear, conscience, confident and a passion for food and environmental protection
  • Be agile and can selfmanage but work part of a dynamic team
  • Input into Divisional Agri strategy aligned to an endtoend approach; hatchery
- feed mills-farms
- factories

  • Deliver and exceed performance targets in areas of process, product, farm, environment, and people.
  • Provide selective cover for the team members as required

About You:

To succeed in this Agriculture Biodiversity and Sustainability Assistant role you will need to demonstrate:

  • Good agricultural knowledge but willingness to learn with an open mind just as important, ideally with experience in biodiversity and sustainability skills that can be applied to scalable poultry production
  • Agriculture degree (or similar) but not essential as experience and past delivery will supersede
  • Proven experience of working in a high performing team a strong team player
  • A commercial and business orientated approach that will have been evidenced by leading or contributing to substantial performance improvement in complex, multisite businesses
  • Interpersonal skills to be able to develop effective relationships at all levels of the organisation including farm level
  • A logical & well organised individual, delivers on time
  • Strong commercial acumen, ability to communicate complex debate clearly and concisely
  • Results focused, able to deliver challenging objectives
  • Ability to manage detail and identify strategic goals
  • Ownership and passion to drive sustainable deliverables aligned to the wider production process
The role will be a hybrid position. Involving regular visits to our farms and suppliers as well our offices in Birmingham. Flexibility will be needed as well as a full UK Driving License and own transport.
