Job description:


Technical Lead - The Role**We are looking for a Chartered Valuation Surveyor interested in becoming a Technical Leader within the Regional Valuation Unit (North).

Our Technical Leaders provide technical advice to colleagues across the network. You will be a technical expert with a natural ability to coach and nurture colleagues undertaking professional qualifications.


The Regional Valuation Unit (RVU) is an exciting, ever-changing environment and will provide you with an excellent opportunity to join our highly skilled, diverse and growing organisation.


You will be joining a team of experienced colleagues who will share their knowledge and support you to become an integral part of the team.

You'll share your own knowledge and experience in our collaborative working environment and can undoubtedly bring a new perspective to the organisation.


We are eager to hear from experienced Valuation Surveyors with rating experience, having dealt with a broad range of property types across different valuation methodologies through to valuation tribunal.


Technical Lead - Responsibilities


The Chartered Valuation Surveyor - Technical Lead role is an important role supporting our future surveying talent pipeline and providing valuable technical advice, leadership, and guidance to the agency.


The role includes:

  • Delivering Non-Domestic Rating casework and providing technical leadership, guidance, and support to caseworkers.
  • Leading, motivating, and inspiring others to deliver results including sharing your professional knowledge to help others develop.
  • Setting and maintaining a strategic overview of the framework for the work of the team, including embedding the VOA vision and values.
  • Offering advice and guidance on complex issues which cannot be resolved within the normal rules or precedents.
  • Providing expert witness testimony and advocacy in complex litigation at VTE/VTW/UTLC and beyond. (Full training and support will be provided).
  • Act as a Counsellor to colleagues undertaking profession qualifications.
