    Default job background
    Description
Job Description Orion Heritage - Principal Consultant - Built Heritage

Join Orion Heritage, the UK's largest independent specialist in archaeology and built heritage consultancy, and embrace a role that offers more than just a job.

Established in 2015, our rapid growth has been fuelled by the loyalty of our clients and the exceptional development of our team.

We have established offices in both Sussex and the North West and we maintain a flexible stance regarding the location of our employees.

While we value the benefits of virtual meeting technology, which enables us to operate seamlessly across the UK, we also believe in the importance of occasional in-person interactions at one of our offices.

This approach helps foster a sense of belonging and connection within the Orion community.

Our dedicated team comprises highly skilled professionals from diverse backgrounds in planning, archaeology, and built heritage. We manage a wide array of projects, from historic cottages to large-scale urban regeneration and renewable energy schemes.

Our mission is to provide straightforward, accurate, and practical advice, leveraging our deep understanding of the industry to offer flexible solutions that conserve and enhance every location we work with.

As a Principal Consultant at Orion Heritage, you will lead our built heritage team, handling high-profile and complex projects.

Your responsibilities will include drafting, research, providing expert advice, managing client and subcontractor relationships, attending meetings, and preparing planning appeals.

You'll not only manage projects but also mentor team members, ensuring high standards and efficient delivery.

    Why Orion Heritage?

You'll have direct access to the senior management team, enabling you to drive real change and have a tangible impact on our success.

Ideal candidates will possess a deep knowledge of the policy and legislative framework governing UK archaeology and be able to effectively connect research themes to project requirements.

A degree in archaeology, architecture, conservation, or a related field is essential.

While we are a small business, we offer competitive compensation, performance-related bonuses, hybrid working arrangements, and a full IT kit.

We provide a 4% pension contribution, death in service benefits, 25 days of holiday plus a paid Christmas shutdown.
