    Location: Homebased / Shetland
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week
    Salary: £26,330 £29,256 per annum
    Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract

    The role

    Cycling UK believes that cycling enriches peoples lives and is an essential ingredient in happier, healthier communities. Our mission is to enable millions more people to cycle, and our development projects across Scotland are a vital part of achieving that mission.

    This project will bring the learning from all Cycling UKs place-based projects in Scotland to deliver activities and opportunities to enable people to walk, wheel and cycle, for local journeys, leisure, and adventure. Our development officer team are embedded in local communities, working closely with community organisations, local business, and public sector agencies to:

    • Bring organisations together to coordinate their activities and offers, to add value
    • to what already exists and identify what additional activities are needed.
    • Deliver a range of walking, wheeling, and cycling activities, from pre-school and
    • family cycling activities to health and heritage walks, adaptive cycling
    • sessions for disabled people, confidence building sessions and learn to ride
    • lessons for every age and ability level.
    • Provide access to a range of cycles for people to try on short or long-term loan,
    • supporting individuals to find a cycle and support that works for them and
    • signposting them to partners that can provide funding for purchases.
    • Work with local organisations to upskill and build the capacity of volunteers to
    • deliver activities in the community.
