About the Role


The Head of Fundraising will take ownership of Hospices of Hope's Fundraising work, including developing a fundraising strategy to support our organisational strategy and budgeted targets, identifying resources and systems required to strengthen our fundraising, leading on corporate fundraising, delivery of capital appeals and managing and developing our Fundraising Team.

The Head of Fundraising will represent Hospices of Hope at external fundraising and networking to raise our profile.


Main Duties
Design and deliver Hospices of Hope's fundraising strategy

  • Develop and implement Hospices of Hope's fundraising strategy, including determining how to prioritise the different strands of income (corporate, events, trusts and foundations, high net worth individuals etc) and setting targets.
  • Monitor ongoing income and expenditure, including restricted income being noted as such.
  • Proactively try to forecast and anticipate any cash flow problems, threats that would affect the fundraising activity but also opportunities and communicate them to the management team
  • Work closely with the
    CEO and Senior Management Team to ensure proposals identify and respond to operational needs and that monitoring and evaluation meets funder and partner requirements.
  • Review and update Hospices of Hope's case for support and other fundraising resources such as proposals and pitches as required.
  • Ensure compliance with the Fundraising Regulator, GDPR and other data legislation, and support the active management of risk within the charity.
  • Represent Hospices of Hope's at external fundraising and networking to raise our profile.
Corporate Partnerships

  • Working closely with Hospices of Hope's
    CEO, longlist and shortlist possible corporate partners, identify key sectors to focus on and develop approaches for engagement.
  • Maintain and update Hospices of Hope's corporate fundraising pipeline and qualify prospects.
  • Engage with and cultivate potential corporate partners to develop meaningful partnerships with shared goals.
  • Carry out any due diligence or other activities conditional on securing a corporate partnership.
  • Manage and steward sustainable partnerships with corporates and their employees.
Events and Promotions

  • To oversee the delivery of Hospices of Hope's events calendar.
  • Liaise with Head of Retail regarding shops in the UK to encourage effective cooperation and promotion of the charity.
  • Support the Donor Relationships Manager with the delivery of a successful donor journey.
Strategic input

  • Contribute to the development of the charity through proactive support for policy and process development and leading projects where required.
  • As part of the Senior Management Team, feed into wider strategic discussions on the direction of the organisation.

About you:


You will also have:

  • A demonstrable record of delivering income growth across several fundraising channels at least one of which should be Corporate Partnerships
  • Experience of supporting other staff in raising support/income generation
  • Experience of overseeing a multiincome stream fundraising department spanning areas such as individual giving, legacies and high value fundraising.
  • Significant people management skills, with the ability to coach and motivate others to achieve.
  • Strategic planning, development and delivery
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to present and represent the organisation externally and inspire audiences
  • An experienced networker, with an ability to build high level relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Reporting ability to review performance against targets and provide accurate forecasts
  • A desire to champion and uphold our organisation's vision, mission and values.

Salary:
£40,000.00 per year

  • Weekend availability

  • Sevenoaks: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
