    HGV Plant MechanicNewport Isle of Wight£14-£15 per hourPertemps Isle of Wight are looking for a HGV Plant Mechanic for a leading skip hire company operating in Newport on the Isle of Wight.

    We are seeking an experienced HGV Plant Mechanic to join the skilled team.

    As a HGV Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the fleet of skip lorries, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on skip lorries, including hydraulic systems, engines, and electrical components.
    • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize vehicle lifespan.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
    • Collaborate with other mechanics and drivers to address maintenance needs.
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history.
    • Always adhere to health and safety guidelines.

    Requirements:

    • You should hold relevant certifications as a HGV mechanic and/or plant mechanic.
    • Experience working on heavy goods vehicles, preferably skip lorries.
    • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
