If this describes you then come and join our Operating Theatre team as a Band 2 Theatre Assistant.


Working in our operating theatre suite at the University Hospital Llandough you will be required to support Nurses, Doctors and technicians to look after patients during/after surgery.

This role will be varied and you will work in the operating theatre itself.

You will be required to carry out duties such as portering, moving patients, collecting and setting up equipment ensuring it is clean and in working order, stocking up shelves of items used during surgery, inputting information in the computer and cleaning the theatre in between operations and at the end of the day.

To contribute as part of the Operating Theatre team to deliver and maintain high standard of patient care.

The post holder will contribute as part of the Theatre team to maintain high standard of cleanliness in Theatre and ancillary areas with special reference to policies specified by the UHB Infection Control Committee and UHB Health and Safety Committee.

This will include cleaning theatre between cases and also doing a thorough clean on completion of the day's sessions.

To provide assistance as a circulating member of the Theatre team i.e. Assisting the scrub practitioner, and undertaking duties under the direction of the practitioner in charge.
