- A suitably experienced post-holder will be expected to provide a clinical service in the relevant specialty to patients of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and to General Practitioners.
- The post-holder will be expected to provide a service to patients of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, General Practitioners and to attend multi-disciplinary meetings. The successful candidate will be expected to work within multi-disciplinary teams in providing high quality clinical care. It is anticipated work will be undertaken on three sites and closer to the patients home. The Trust is seeking to extend services to GP surgeries/health centres etc and job plans may be revised in due course.
- The post-holder will provide support to the A&E department and acute medicine to ensure timely appropriate care and patient flow through the hospital.

Main duties of the job
Applicationsare invited for a full-time Consultant in Paediatrics and Neonates, to replacea retiring colleague. You will be responsible for the clinical care ofneonates, children and young people working independently in acute, outpatientand emergency situations but with the knowledge that you can rely on a verysupportive team of multi-specialty consultant colleagues within thedirectorate.
This is anexciting time to join our unit and our diverse but cohesive consultantteam. We are planning for a newPaediatric Assessment unit (PAU) and expansion of our high dependency serviceoffer, with plans to redesign many specialty services and collaborate withwider consultants work incountywide roles: most clinical sessions at Worcestershire Royal Hospital (WRH)but outpatient sessions may be at other hospital sites including KidderminsterTreatment Centre (KTC) and the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch (ALX) as well aslocal community hospital sites (Evesham & Malvern).
Thesuccessful applicant will participate in a hybrid on-call covering paediatricsand neonatal medicine with 24-hour resident junior and middle grade staff. Thesuccessful applicant should have good clinical skills in general paediatricsand neonatal medicine and we are keen to attract specialist knowledge inpaediatric rheumatology, gastroenterology and/or allergy.
